Preschool worksheets (ages 3-4)

1 free worksheet with answer keys, built on what preschool children learn. PDF, no sign-up.

What preschoolers are learning

At 3 and 4, children learn through play. They count small groups of up to 5 objects, name colors and simple shapes, compare big and small, and match pictures that go together. Their hands get ready for writing with straight lines, curves and coloring inside thick outlines. Every worksheet here is built around one big, clear task and lots of pictures.

How to use these worksheets

One worksheet a day is plenty. A three-year-old usually stays focused for 5 to 10 minutes, so read the instruction out loud, hand over a chunky crayon and let your child work at their own pace. Stop while it is still fun. The answer key is on the second page, so you can check the work together.

Frequently asked questions

Which worksheets suit a 3-year-old?

Pages with a single task and big pictures: tracing straight lines and circles, counting to 3, coloring the biggest picture, matching pictures that are the same and very easy mazes.

My child does not hold a pencil well yet. Can they still do these?

Yes. At this age a mature pencil grip is still developing. Use thick crayons or markers and let your child trace the path with a finger first.

Are the worksheets free?

Yes. Every worksheet is a free PDF with the answer key on the last page. No sign-up, no email.
