Sources and standards
What our worksheets are based on, how we use each source and under which license.
Common Core State Standards
Many worksheets name a Common Core State Standards code, such as K.CC.B.5. We use only the code and a short description of the skill written in our own words. We do not copy the text of the standards. To read the official standards, visit corestandards.org.

Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework
For preschool and pre-K worksheets we also follow the skills in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (ELOF), published by the Office of Head Start, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, at headstart.gov. It is a work of the US federal government and is not protected by copyright (17 U.S.C. 105). Using it does not mean the Office of Head Start endorses this site.
About our standards
Some states use their own standards instead of the Common Core, for example Texas, Virginia, Alaska and Nebraska, and others, such as Florida, Indiana, Oklahoma and South Carolina, have replaced them with their own. Early math and reading skills are very similar from state to state, so our worksheets are useful everywhere, but we do not claim that they match any particular state’s standards. If your school follows its own standards, please check them before you choose a worksheet.
Word lists
Our sight word and high-frequency word worksheets use word lists we put together ourselves from common early-reading words. Where a worksheet uses the Dolch word list (first published in the 1930s and 1940s), we say so on the page and arrange the words in our own order and groups.

All fonts are served from our own server and embedded in the PDFs as they are, without changes, under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
