What children learn in Pre-K

At 4 and 5, children count to 10, start to recognize the numerals, continue simple patterns (AB, ABB), sort by color and size and begin to hear the first sound in a word. Tracing gets finer: waves, zigzags, loops and the first letters. Look-and-find pages build attention, and mazes teach planning ahead.

How to use these worksheets

Most pages have one or two tasks and take 10 to 15 minutes. They fit nicely into a weekly theme (fall, winter, animals) or a quiet morning at home. Each worksheet lists the early learning skill it practices, which helps teachers keep a portfolio.
